Choosing a class

Who Hot Yoga may suit

Hot yoga may suit adults who enjoy a warm environment and a physically demanding class. It is not the best choice for everyone. People with cardiovascular conditions, heat sensitivity, some health conditions, or who are pregnant should seek appropriate medical advice and speak to the teacher before booking.

Your first session

What a class is like

Expect the studio to be heated before class and for perspiration to increase quickly. The teacher may lead a fixed sequence or a changing flow, with water breaks and rest options explained at the start. Arrive early for your first class, avoid pushing deeper simply because you feel warmer, and leave the room if you feel unwell.

What to bring

Bring a yoga mat, a large towel for the mat, a smaller towel and water. Wear lightweight clothing and follow the studio’s hydration and arrival guidance. Some studios rent specialist mats or towels.
