Access and terminology

Public learning and member-only opportunities

Some teacher-development events are open to all yoga teachers. Others are reserved for active HYA members or may include a member benefit. Each event card clearly shows its access status.

Public teacher-development events

Open events can be explored and booked by eligible attendees without an HYA membership. Always check the organiser’s requirements.

HYA member opportunities

Member-labelled events require active access. Sign in through the teacher portal to view protected details where applicable.

CPD

What HYA means by CPD

HYA uses “CPD” in its general sense: continuing professional development that may help teachers extend their knowledge and practice. An event is not described as formally accredited, certified or eligible for external professional-body hours unless the individual event listing explicitly provides supported details.

Learning inspiration

Examples of professional-development themes

Confident, inclusive teaching

Ideas for adapting communication, environments and practices for a wider range of students.

Teaching business and visibility

Practical approaches to reaching students, managing boundaries and sustaining your work.

Practice, reflection and connection

Time to deepen knowledge, exchange experience and connect with other local teachers.

Questions about workshops and CPD

Check each event page for its specific audience, outcomes, access and organiser terms.

Are HYA workshops formally accredited?
Not automatically. HYA uses CPD to describe continuing professional development. Any formal accreditation, certification or recognised hours will be stated and evidenced on the individual event page.
Do I need HYA membership to attend?
It depends on the event. Public events are available without HYA membership, while member-only events require an active teacher membership. Check the access label on each listing.
Where do workshops take place?
Events may take place at venues across Hampshire or online. Use the location filter and check the individual event page for full venue or joining details.
Will I receive a certificate?
Only where the individual organiser explicitly includes one. Please read the event details or contact the organiser before booking if a certificate is important to you.
